Apologies for the hiatus. I've been doing some more traveling and I have tons to upload.. shortly. :)

Big Sur Bakery & Restaurant, Big Sur, CA.

Greg and I got up at 5am and hit the open road. Destination: SF (me)/Seattle (Greg), with a whole lotta Bruce Springsteen and Big Sur. :)

Big Sur is gorgeous.

We were hungry and needed gas so we pulled in and found what I'm sure is the best bakery & restaurant in Big Sur. :)

Best ham & cheese croissant (left) I've ever had. Everything else looked amazing, too. I only wish it were as easy as hoppin' in a car and driving down there. ;)

If you're ever driving up or down the coast, stop and eat here! You can thank me later. ;)

Yummy Mexican at La Caseta, Fallbrook, CA.

My taco salad. Not the best, but I probably should have ordered something else. Everything else looked really good. :)

Greg's burrito plate.

Fresh & Easy, Fallbrook, CA.

Tesco in the US! :) Yay! I love. Well, I love and don't love. Haha. It's a good idea, but I don't like the warehouse feeling when you walk in--rather than Costco-like, it feels more discount grocery store that might sell expired food.

The fresh/deli section is wonderful though. They've got a fabulous strawberry-lemonade and I got a great honey-mustard dressing, too!

Yay for new grocery stores! Now that Tesco is here.. I can't wait for Marks & Spencer to hit America!

My first oatmeal, Fallbrook, CA.

European oatmeal with brown sugar, sliced bananas and apples. Greg's family was alarmed to hear that I'd never had oatmeal before. I never really thought I would like it and I don't--I think it's to do with the texture and the fact that it's a little bland. It was better than I thought though and Greg's dad was very kind for making it for me! :)

Farmer Greg, Fallbrook, CA.

Greg's been faaaaarming in SoCal! :) When he talked about his garden I thought it was just going to be a little patch, but it's fabulous and he's growing all kinds of delicious veggies!

Fish tacos, Fallbrook, CA.

Yummy. Greg's favorite taco shop in Fallbrook! Except, I don't really like tacos. Well, I don't really like authentic tortillas so I ate these without the tortillas and they were very good. :)

Love this sink, Fallbrook, CA.

Out of the desert and back in civilization--Greg's parents have a great 3-compartment sink! I love it. :)

Applebee's, Joshua Tree, CA.

Greg had never been to Applebee's and they had one in the town just outside of Joshua Tree National Park so we decided to be silly and go! Haha. If you knew Greg you'd roll your eyes and laugh right now. :) My tomato soup wasn't anything great to start with. Aww.. but I was starving so it was nice. :)

My salad. Eh.

Greg loved it. Haha.. no actually, he was just hungry, but hey--we were out in the desert and it had air conditioning, food and good service so no hating on Applebee's. :)

Delicious veggie burritos, Joshua Tree, CA.

On the left we have tomato-habanero tortillas and soy chorizo with corn.

These are Baja-Greg style burritos. We have the soy chorizo, corn, fresh jalapenos, cheese, cabbage and salsa on a tomato-habanero tortilla. This was SO yummy!!! We're awesome campers, Greg. :)

Attack of the squirrels, Joshua Tree, CA.

We'd just set up camp and transfered the water from the truck to the table when..

This squirrel jumped right up on the table and bit into the plastic! It knew right away that those jugs were water. CRAZY.

Hey, it's the desert, in the middle of July, and the squirrels.. and everything else were thiiiirsty. We moved the water back into the truck. :)

Grocery shopping at Stater Brothers, Joshua Tree, CA.

We stopped at Trader Joe's, Target and Rite Aid, but also at State Bros--because, well, we had never been! They had a couple out there. Interesting. :) I looove finding new grocery stores.

Joshua Tree National Park. :)

Breaky at LGB, Long Beach, CA.

Greg had been to this place at the Long Beach airport so we decided to go there after I landed and before heading out to Joshua Tree!

Gregs!

Filling a fro-yo craving with Double Rainbow, Union Square, SF.

OMG!!! We wanted frozen yogurt so badly and caught them just before closing shop! Chocolate swirl with M&Ms. :)

Haha--trench coat twins with our froyo. :)

My (김치찌개) kimchee chigae.

Mmmmmmm! Kimchi, pork, tofu, green onion, garlic, at a low boil for a long time. :)

Bulgogi (불고기), lettuce (상추), kimchi chigae. Yay! This turned out incredibly well and I eve impressed my Korean chef friend. :)

Schwarma at Ali Baba's Cave, Lower Haight, SF.

The schwarma bar. Very tasty. I love the schwarmas and the hummus here. Be weary of the hot sauce though--it's pretty spicy and an unusual spice that you might not like if you're not used to it. The hot sauce ruined the schwarma for my roommate. :(

Intermezzo is now Cafe Mattina, Berkeley, CA.

Half a roasted eggplant sand. on honey-wheat and half a salad with poppyseed dressing. I get this or the half tuna salad sandwich whenever I come here.

I don't love the name change, but it probably had to do with ownership? I'll still call it Intermezzo and I'll still love it. :)

Crepe at Honey Honey, Lower Nob Hill, SF.

Strawberry Nutella crepe. I didn't love the ice cream, but the crepe was fine.

Lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, Union Square, SF.

Sante Fe salad. I love this salad.

Spicy Chicken Chipotle Pasta. Eh, it was fine, but nothing great.

So, I don't mind the Cheesecake Factory, for a chain, because I like their salads and you get a lot of food for the price. Other than the salads though, I haven't found anything else I really love--other than some of the cheesecakes. :)

American tapas at Annie's Bistro, Pacific Heights, SF.

Calamari. This was really good, but a bit salty. Apologies for the dark photos to come--I hate using flash.

Carpaccio. This was nice.

Mushroom risotto. Good.

Tuna tartare. Not the best--just not very flavorful.

Slider with fries. Good.

Overall, Annie's Bistro was okay. The food wasn't anything spectacular, but the menu is nice and they give a good amount for the price. I'd go again, but wouldn't ever expect the meal of my life or anything.

Crab feast at PPQ, Outer Richmond, SF.

Egg rolls and a very yummy salad. I really, really liked this salad--it had nice textures a nice, light flavor.

Yummy, yummy, garlic nooooooodles!

Ahh! So much delicious crab. This was actually a great deal. We had 13 people (I think) and we ordered four of the couple menus. The drunken crab was the only one I didn't enjoy. It was more than enough food though and came out to about $25/each with tax and tip, which is fabulous for a crab feast!

Boudin's sourdough bread bowl clam chowder, Fisherman's Wharf, SF.

My aunt was in town from S. Korea so we went for some real SF treats. :) I love getting this. The fresh bread bowls are the best.

Making Sunday brunch with the girls.

Stuffed pancake mix for our Ebelskivers!

The Filled Pancake Pan from Williams-Sonoma is great.

Trinh's Ebelskivers! There was chocolate and lemon curd filling.

My giant crab omelette. Eggs, crab meat, gruyere, onion and red pepper.

Kat's scramble.

Sausage links.

Ebelskivers, hashbrowns, crab omelette. Our brunch was AMAZING!!! Be jealous. :)
