Cranberry poppy seed salad.

Mixed greens with dried cranberries and a poppy seed dressing. I love poppy seed dressing, but not all the time. I like it on salads and some sandwiches.

Chicken and sausage stuffed enchiladas with Lizano Salsa.

Red bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, chicken, sausage and spices.

With rice, corn and black beans.

Filling.

All rolled up with enchilada sauce. Ready to bake for about 30 minutes.

Yummy.

Pat just got back from Costa Rica and brought back their famous Lizano Salsa! It's not spicy, but has this nice tangy yumminess to it. :) I want to try to find somewhere that sells it in SF!

Planting our thyme, SF.

Picking out a pot for our herbs!

The herbs at Home Depot.

I want to plant CILANTRO!!!! :)

Just as we were leaving, there was a drawing for a $20 gift card to and I won! Yaaaaay!

Our thyme, all ready to go.

P with the potting soil. Aww, it's our first plant! :)

Watering the thyme.

Groooooow! Grow and then we'll use you to make delicious food! :)

Doris' birthday at Bella Trattoria, Inner Richmond, SF.

Antipasto della casa - grilled vegetables, cold cuts, olives and formaggi.

Polpette della mamma - House made pork meatballs, sauteed with eggplant and fresh tomatoes.

Tagliata al gorgonzola - grilled hanger steak with a shitake-gorgonzola cream bechamel. This was very, very good!

Linguine nere - Squid ink linguine with clams, calamari, and eggplant, sauteed with wine and olive oil.

Assaggini di bella - ravioli in cream, penne in pink and gnocchi with tomato sugo. This was my dish, because I can never choose just one! :) It's like the Tour of Italy at the Olive Garden--haha! The ravioli was my favorite. The cream sauce was excellent. The penne was fine and the gnocchi was good, but the tomato sugo just tasted like tomato paste. Not my favorite.

Birthday girl, Doris, and I with her cake! :)

Overall, the restaurant was great! Charming little place with great waitstaff. Everyone was very happy with their food and they didn't even charge a serving fee for the cake! :)

Cakes at Sheng Kee, Westlake Center, Daly City.

We looooove pretty, delicious cakes. :)

We picked out a tiramisu for Doris because tiramisu is her favorite. :) It was yummmmy.

Veggie lunch set at Daphne's, Westlake Center, Daly City.

I've seen Daphne's in Portland, but have never been. We decided to try it and it's a heckuva deal. I got all of this food--a great mix, if I do say so myself--and a drink for $7. Awwwwwesome.

Sushi Rock, Chinatown, SF.

I can't remember what all we ordered...

But it was pretty good. :)

German treats.

P brought back some chocolates and gummi bears from Germany for me! Yaaaay. These chocolates are some of the best milk chocolates I've ever had.

Southwestern chicken salad.

Chicken with some paprika and pepper. So I'm trying to like and cook more chicken now.

Veggies with some simple spices.

Chicken and veggies on a bed of greens with with tortilla strips and an enchilada vinaigrette dressing. Yum.

Grilled vegetable balsamic salad and baked potato sliders.

Grilling up some onions, mushrooms and red bell peppers! I sauteed them in some olive oil and then added just a splash of balsamic vinegar and some ground pepper at the end.

Tossed into my salad with a little parmesan and some of my leftover dressing from earlier. Oh man, I'm making myself another one of these for lunch tomorrow.

Baby red potatoes, into the oven you go!

Chopped up chives.

Baaaaacon.

Mini baked potatoes! Split baby red potatoes with parm, sour cream/cream cheese mix, chives, bacon bits and ground pepper. They're so cute! And yummy and easy to make!

Red grape and parm salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

I made the dressing by using some balsamic vin, olive oil, a little dijon and some spices--rosemary, sage, thyme, basil, fennel seed, cracked black pepper. Red grapes and parm brought it all together. Yummmmmmy.

This week has been slow because this week is eat all of my leftovers week! Yaaay. I think it's silly/impossible to cook for one, so I always have too much food! Good thing I'm a pro at freezing food. :) I'm ALLLLLL about making use of the freezer, baby. :) The thing is, when you're constantly cooking new stuff, your leftovers just kind of build up. Thus, this week was devoted to getting rid of what I could from the freezer. :) I promise, my frozen food reheats really well!

Seoul Garden, Japantown, SF.

Korean side dishes. Photo by Evil J. on Yelp.com.

I didn't take any photos because it was a SF Korean community leaders luncheon for Hepititis B awareness. It was a great event, put on by Asian Week Foundation. And like all good events, of course, there was goooood food!

We got a set menu that included:
-Korean side dishes
-Rice
-Korean style mini pancake tempura
-Japchae noodles
-Kalbi
-Spicy pork
-Broiled Yellowtail fish
-Korean spicy tofu stew

The meal was soooo good. Maybe the best Korean I've had in the City. You should judge any decent Korean restaurant by their side dishes and their kimchi. :) Very good kimchi. The only thing I wasn't really thrilled on was the japchae.

Japanese curry with beef, onions and potatoes.

Beef, onions and potatoes, boiling for.. aaaaawhile.

Crazy curry cubes! :)

In goes the mix. I ended up adding a cup of water to get the right taste/consistency.

Over rice. Yummy and way too filling.

Baguette Express, Tenderloin, SF.

Grilled Pork Vietnamese style sandwich.

After all of that chocolate, this totally hit the spot.

SF International Chocolate Salon, Fort Mason, SF.

SF International Chocolate Salon 2009 at Herbst Pavilion! Our Food Editor at work, couldn't be a panelist, so I went in her place! Yaaaay.

Oh my goodness, there was so much to try. A lot of it eh, a lot of it delicious. I had to turn in my sheet with notes, so I can't remember where all of the photos are from, but I'll do my best...

Definitely not my favorite although I remember they had a really nice white.

Chocolate truffle and chai.

Mr. Philippe Lewis of Edible Love Chocolates. The first very stand out chocolates we tasted. I voted them Best Truffles. Fantastic absinthe truffle.

Chocolate art, yooo! There were these darling little boxes that looked like cakes, but the lady wasn't allowing photos. I'm going to email her to try to get a photo though. :)

William Dean of Florida! Yummy and very pretty. They had a peanut butter and jelly chocolate that I just loved. They also had amazing pate de fruit assortments!

I want to say this place was Divine Chocolate.

LOFT Liqueurs. Very tasty cellos and apparently the first certified organic liqueur in the US.

Sterling Confections. They had these beautiful truffle logs that I voted for for Best Presentation & Packaging.

Kika's Treats. Super, super yummy candied graham cracker chocolates!

Two unphotographed, but notable chocolatiers: Rushburn Toffee Co. and Coco Delice.

Gosh, what a fabulous event! Everyone was very kind about sampling all of the different chocolates. Some places were even giving out full chocolates and confections!

We were chocolated-out by half way through. It was crazy. We did finish though, and hit every booth, but had to be choosy about what we tried at each booth. Here's Audrey with our bag of chocolates we couldn't finish! :)
