Dinner with Caitie at Twigs, Wandermere, Spokane.

Twigs has really yummy fries and gorgonzola dip.

I got this teriyaki chicken pita and caesar salad. This was the best thing I've ever had at Twigs. Usually I'm dissapointed with the food, but this was very good. I don't love chicken though! I always seem to think I'll like it if I keep trying it, but no.. next time, I'll get this vegetarian!

Caitie's yumy chicken blue cheese pizza.

Foot, etc, at The Davenport Hotel, Downtown, Spokane.

Pretty antique table setting.

Cute!

Can we just set up a table and eat in here every night? :)

Korean American Thanksgiving Feast 2009, S. Hill, Spokane.

It all started with our hostess (in purple) and a bunch of empty serving platters. Asian Thanksgivings are always an interesting mix of Asian and American food. :)

And then we arranged this appetizer tier to nibble on while everything else finished cooking. The mini jalapeno-cheddar cornbread muffins on the bottom are mine!

Getting the ham ready for the final bake!

My parent's seafood dish.

String bean casserol.

Asian fish dish.

Korean japchae. My mother's friend, who I hadn't seen in about 5 years made this and made it vegetarian because she remembered that I was! Aw, bless her! But I had to break it to her that I haven't been a vegetarian in almost 3 years now!

Korean vegetable and egg pancakes.

A spicy Korean chicken and potato dish.

Bacon wrapped asparagus!

Corn bread stuffing.

The ham, was our turkey this year! First Thanksgiving without a turkey, but I don't love turkey so it was okay. :)

Baked salmon with lemon, capers and a cream sauce. This was my favorite part of the meal!

The whole spread.

I'm so thankful for good eats. ;)

Dinner, coffee and dessert at the Ring's, South Hill, Spokane.

Mrs. Ring, slicing her homemade bread! She kept insisting it wasn't her best, but it was soo good! She showed me how to make it and sent me a few recipes for easy Dutch oven bread, so I'll have to try that. :)

Pomegranate salad. Very, very good.

Cougar Gold cheese soup! You can't go wrong with cheese soup, right? :)

The Ring's have a stunning new home and this built-in espresso machine is part of the stun-factor. Beautiful!

Only Mrs. Ring has clearance to use it though! She made me a lovely latte.

The way this machine does it, you don't even need to add sugar! I normally do, but this was just one shot of espresso and 1% milk.

And we had my cheesecake for dessert! I'm happy to report it was a hit. :)

Thanks, AR, for inviting me over for such a fun dinner! And thank you, Beth, for the fabulous meal!

Pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce and candied pecans.

Filling: cream cheese, pumpkin puree, flour, eggs, pumpkin pie spice.

Crust: graham crackers, cinnamon-sugar, butter. Baked for 8 minutes, then filled and baked for 45 minutes.

Perfection! :)

I was in a bit of a rush to top this so I didn't take pictures of the sauce and pecans! But the sauce is a basic caramel. For the pecans I used: pecan halves, egg white, sugar, cinnamon, salt, water and vanilla.

I made this one for dinner at the Ring's and another, in my square spring-form pan, for Thanksgiving dinner at the Hong's. It's my tradition to do a pumpkin cheesecake every Thanksgiving, but I didn't get to last year.. I hope it's as good as I remember!

Taste TV's Tasty Awards.

The great folks at Taste TV are launching The Tasty Awards this year! It combines and celebrates two of my favorite things: fashion and food. Very cool.

I get to vote on behalf of my work, too! So exciting.

Tofu and corn vegetable salad with feta.

Red onion, garlic, corn, parsley, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, olive oil.

Add lemon juice, crushed red pepper, salt and pepper.

Add tofu and pine nuts.

Add feta and sprig of parsley!

This is my new favorite meal. FAVORITE. :)

Basil, feta and roasted red pepper muffins.

Basil, roasted red pepper, feta.

Batter with the savory goodies mixed in.

This is where the magic happens. :)

Baked! Ugh, I hate the lighting in my Mom's kitchen.

Saaaavory muffins (they're essentially biscuits). These were good, the basil in them really has a bite. The feta wasn't super flavorful though and next time I'll add a different cheese and maybe a little more salt.

This is from a recipe from my new cookbook, Food & Wine's Best of the Best 2009!

Drinks and late night bites at Zebulon, SOMA, SF.

Okay, so no food pics, but it was a night of good food, good drinks and great company! :) I love these guys.

Food wise--we had the bulgogi and the Adobo sliders, which are really very good. The lychee martinis here are great, too! :)

I always forget about this alley, but Zebulon, Varnish and John Colins are all tres faaabulous.

Brunch with Celia at The Grove, Pacific Heights, SF.

Iced white chocolate. Mmmmmm. I love getting drinks here.

I really really really wanted the French onion, but they were out so I settled for tomato cream soup with my tuna melt. The tuna was great (definitely high quality tuna) and the soup was okay.

Ooo! The Grove is now doing free wi-fi though! Hurray! :)

EAT supperclub at 111 Minna, SOMA, SF.

111 Minna is my favorite spot in SF. Hands down. I mean, it's a great gallery, super fun dance club that does 90's night(!!!!!), and now has a supper club! Love love love.

Menu for 11/16. It wasn't as busy as I expected. The food was great though and you can't beat the prices!

Housefried tortilla chips with tomatillo salsa.

Yummy. The salsa was really nice.

Housemade flatbread.

Slider.

Mahi taco.

Yeaaaa.. I liked this, except I just really don't like tortillas.

Kingdom Cake cupcakes.

They didn't have the red velvet and Oreo that was on the menu! Sad! But acutally, the Gingerbread (left) and chocolate peanut butter (right) were super moist and delish!
