New cookware, etc.

P and I kind of went crazy this weekend, bargain shopping for some new cookware. We both got some great deals on things we've been looking for! Here is his cast iron grill/griddle.

P's bamboo cutting boards.

P's white dinner plates and a 1 liter liquid measuring cup.

P's large Calphalon clad skillet.

My Farberware fluted mold bundt pan.

My Chef'n salad spinner.

Braised breast of chicken with demi-glace sauce over wild rice with sauteed mushrooms and carrot puree.

P found this recipe and wanted to try it so here goes! Starting off with some chicken breasts with skin.

Butter.

Searing the chicken with some salt and pepper.

Crispy golden brown deliciousness!

Demi-glace sauce.

Into the dutch oven.

And into the oven for a long, long time.

Mushrooms with some butter as a side.

Carrot puree as a side.

Wild rice, perfectly cooked in a rice cooker, of course! ;)

Ooooo delicious!

And further reducing the sauce..

Ta-da! Braised breast of chicken with demi-glace sauce over wild rice with sauteed mushrooms and carrot puree. Delicious! The sauce was diiiiivine.

Opperation clean P's pantry.

I really should have done a before and after photo. It was scary before. Yes, scary is the right word. ;) I've been wanting to organize it for awhile now and finally got some time yesterday! Yaaaay! I now feel mentally okay to cook there. :)

Three new plants for our herb garden.

P, potting.

Me, watering.

Basil, rosemary and oregano to go along with our thyme! Yaaaaaay. Be delicious! :)

California Crisp, Stonestown Galleria, SF.

Grilled chicken panini with caesar salad. I should have ordered something different, but this was all right. The panini bread and sauce was good, but the chicken was dry. The caesar was just fine.

Asuka Ramen, Nob Hill, SF.

Gyoza.

Unagi sushi roll. This was pretty good and I find that it's hard to go wrong with unagi.

Chicken katsu curry. Thi was just okay. The curry seemed just like the store kind and I usually like it have more of a kick.

P's ramen.

Overall, this place is a good spot. The people there are super nice and it's just down the road from me!

Bangkok Best, Financial District, SF.

I forgot my camera so this photo is from Reiko S. on Yelp.com.

Well..... I definitely didn't love it. We got phad Thai, panang curry and the dinner special that comes with hot tea, a side salad, soup and rice. It was a good deal, but you can get better Thai for the same price at other places.

Butternut squash ravioli with a buttery balsamic sauce.

Frozen ravioli from Trader Joe's. It comes with a brown butter sage sauce that I really don't like.

Butter, a little balsamic, Italian seasoning, a little parm and some milk. I didn't really know what I was doing here.. just kind of threw it together. It ended up tasting pretty good though!

With some grilled peppers. :) Yummy.

Salami and parmesan salad.

Mixed greens with torn salami, parm and a light balsamic dressing.

Pepper scramble with salami.

Orange, yellow and red bell peppers, onions and salami and eggs. And some yummy spices, of course. :)
