Cookies for my costume.

Chocolate, butterscotch, coconut flake cookies with cinnamon sugar.

I'm being a 50's housewife for Halloween and I thought I'd play the part by carrying around homemade cookies in some tupperware! SO excited! I have three parties to head to so I made a bunch of these--hopefully they last! :)

Carrot cake whoopie pies with orange cinnamon cream cheese filling.

Use your favorite cake recipe (I used carrot, but upped the cinnamon), but instead of the wet ingredients, use 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup oil and 3 eggs.

Mini muffin pan, baby, I like using muffin pans for my whoopie pie haves because A). the batter is still pretty runny so I feel strange dropping it onto a cookie sheet and B). it makes even, perfectly circular rounds!

This was such a trip though because you use a minimal amount of batter. I used 1 teaspoon of batter for each cookie! Basically, whether you're using a mini or regular sized cupcake pan, you want to just cover the bottom of each cup. Needless to say, this makes an large amount of cookies/whoppie halves.

Whoopie cookie halves.

Basic cream cheese frosting recipe with added cinnamon sugar, coconut and orange extract.

Filled and put together! So cute. I hear it's actually good to refrigerate these, which isn't the case with cookies or cake.

Whoopie pies originated from the New English Amish! They are still relatively new to the West Coast, I guess, and I always find some people who know what they are and others who don't, but everyone seems to love them so I thought I'd make them from my friend's birthday party tonight. I have SO many of them though so I'll also be sharing them with friends and bringing some to the office on Monday! :)

More yummy treats from Off The Grid, Fort Mason Center, SF.

Duck taco from Kung Fu Tacos. The duck was cooked nicely and quite tasty, but there wasn't even filling for the double tortillas.

My half of a crazy hot dot. The dog was actually really yummy and the dressings were, too.

Ahi tuna slider. This was just okay.

Creme brulee cart. This was the Mexican chocolate. When you broke the brulee, it was just like a chocolate mousse! Don't get me wrong, I actually prefer that, because I'm not the biggest on creamy custard, but that's creme brulee. Whatever it was, it was delicious. :)

Gobba Gobba Hey whoopie pies! To be honest, they aren't my favorite whoopie pies, but the guys there are rad and they do some interesting flavor combinations.

Uvaggio wine pairings at Ristobar, Marina, SF.

What a lovely, casual event with great wine and good food! I tried four of the Uvaggio wines with an assortment of yummy bites from Ristobar. The Uvaggio whites are bold and crisp and not afraid to be true white wines--it's so refreshing to see that!

The Uvaggio Muscato Dolce was fabulous with these sweet treats.

A special thanks to Lauren Eastman & Associates, Rivera PR, Uvaggio and Ristobar for the fun tasting!

Mmmmm... stacks of delicious cupcakes.

Whoopie pie and banana pudding--both were unbelievable! There's a banana slice in the pudding--mmmm!

They had these super cute cake spatula magnets--LOVE!

Behind the counter.

Mmmmm...

I'm excited to go back and grab some more goodies!

Kiddie treats for Tenderloin Toyland.

I just started co-curating for the gallery at Public Barber Salon. We had an opening reception for our new show, Tenderloin Toyland, featuring new work by Scott Hammel. I thought I'd bring some yummy treats! I decided to go with the "Toyland" theme and do some of my favorite kid treats in miniature form. :)

On the menu:
Plated and served at the gallery. These went SO fast!

Plated and served! :) The rice crispy balls were the first to go, but everything was a hit! :)

The show was wonderful, too--it was my kick off to my birthday weekend, which I'm very excited for. :) Thank you to everyone who came out tonight!
