My first Indian style veggie curry.

Greek yogurt, vegetable stock, tomatoes, red peppers, onions, garlic, curry powder, spices.

This actually turned out really well. I liked the lighter flavor, although I didn't use a recipe and think it should be a little thicker. Not bad for a first curry though! ;)

Indian delivery from Little Dehli, Tenderloin, SF.

Eep! This is my first non-pizza delivery in the US (had delivery while I was living in Korea)! And my first delivery I've had by myself, but of course, I ordered like I was eating for 10! Hah. I feel like such a city girl now. Haha. ;)

I ordered through Eat24Hours.com, which worked great. The food came in about 15 minutes!

Here's what I ordered: Little Delhi Special Bread; Bengan Bharta; Okra Vegetable; Vegetable Malai Kofta.
I didn't care for the bread, but everything else was quite nice. I had tried everything except for the Vegetable Malai Kofta in other Indian restaurants. I'm so glad I tried the Kofta though--it was my favorite part of this meal and was really a delight.

This was a ridiculous amount of food for $30! I only had about 1/4 of it, froze some and will have some as leftovers this week. :)

Curry Up Now Indian buritto with my cilantro lime sauce.

I couldn't get through this veggie burrito at Off The Grid last night so I had it today for lunch with my homemade cilantro lime sauce. It was excellent! :) I must say though, I had the chicken curry burrito last week and preferred that one.

Night feast at Shalimar, Tenderloin, SF.

After the fundraiser at Swig, we marched on over to Shalimar with hungry bellies. :) We were greeted with this amazing newspaper menu--LOVE!

I think we just ordered one of everything.. :)

AMAZING!

The okra was my favorite dish. I think prefer the naan at Darbar more though. The naan here is nice and thick, but I thought the garlic naan at Darbar was more flavorful.

Eggplant chicken Jalfrezi.

I'm awful and go easy by getting a rotisserie chicken. Here it is, pulled apart. This will be used for a few recipes coming up in the next few days.. :)

One eggplant, sliced up.

And pan fried with a little olive oil and water until soft.

Then mixed with Jalfrezi curry sauce and chicken.

And not my best plating, but I was in a rush to eat and run out the door! Haha. So here it is, over rice. The eggplant was sooo soo nice. I really do love eggplant. The curry sauce was nice, too, but I think I prefer Jalfrezi cold, with my curry chicken salad!

Indian night at Darbar, Russian Hill, SF.

Bottom left: Okra dish that isn't on the menu. We just said we wanted something very yummy with okra and they brought us this, which is soo lovely! I'm going to get this all the time now.

Middle: Saag Gosht - Lamb meat cooked with saag (spinach), herbs and spices.

We got the onion naan, which is so flavorful and fluffy, and the basmati rice.

After a long weekend of Korean, I thought it would be good to get a taste of something else. I would have happily gone for a burger, being that I didn't get to Father's Office this time around, but Indian sounded good, too! And I heart Darbar! :) It's nice and cheap, the food is tasty and the service is great.

Darbar Indian for St. Patrick's Day dinner, Russian Hill, SF.

What didn't we order?! Haha.. I must say, we made some great choices and got a variety of flavors. Clockwise from the bottom left: Lamb Korma Curry, Bangan Bharta (eggplant), Palak Paneer, Chicken Makhani (butter chicken).

Darbar was excellent--definitely the best Pakistani-Indian I've had in SF. None of the curries were too bold in flavor, but they were just right and had excellent textures. The chutneys had stronger flavors and complemented the curries well. We also got an order of the rice, garlic naan and onion naan. I prefered the onion naan because you could taste the onion, but the fluffiness of both naans was just right! :)

I'm so glad we decided on Indian for St. Patrick's day! I think it was fitting considering Indian food is taking over the UK/Ireland. :)

Post marathon Indian at Naan 'n' Curry, Van Ness, SF.

Palak paneer, rice, naan and samosas.

Yummy late night eats. :) That was one loooong day of movies. District 9 was amazing though. Hope it wins something!

Pimm's Cup at Gaylord, Embarcadero Center, SF.

I hadn't had a Pimm's Cup in SO long! Tasty.

This was a post Pillowfight, pre-theater drink. :) Gaylord is a nice little Indian place with a cute little bar. :)

Indian with NB at Rasika, Penn Quarter, DC.

I came for the palak chaat. This is one of my favorite dishes ever! Whenever I'm in DC I have to come here now to get this! :)

Dinner with Emily at Prana, Financial District, SF.

Prana "bread". I didn't like it very much.

Chopped Vegetable Salad, bleu cheese, celery, romaine, plum tomatoes, japanese cucumber, jicama, figs, avocado, curried pecans, sumac-lime yogurt dressing - 9

Spicy Tuna Tartar, avocado, tobiko, wasabi oil, plantain chips - 13

North Indian Vegetable Curry, house-made naan - 7

Sauteed Sweet & Spicy Prawns, garlic noodles - 13

Whoa! Too close with the flash on that one--sorry! :)

I got a Restaurant.com gift certificate to Prana so we tried it out and it was pretty good. The food isn't fine dining, but it's very tasty and definitely worth going with the Restaurant.com discount! The atmosphere is interesting because you're dining in an emptied out nightclub (Prana is Temple Lounge at night)! The decor, with the magenta lights and white everything else, is neat though.

Dosa on Fillmore, Japantown, SF.

Paper Masala Dosa

YAY! This is my new favorite Indian dish! It's crispy and light and huge and delicious! Awesome. The sauces are great, it's totally fun to eat and tastes fabulous. I definitely get why this is on the 7x7 things to eat before you die, list!

Jumbo Prawns Masala Reduction of coconut milk, red chiles, ginger, red onions & spices with coconut rice & raita

I got this last time, too. It's good, but nothing special.

Five Moons Uttapam

I got this last time, too. It's not that great.

P's sister was in town for a wedding and we let her decide between: Indian, Mediterranean and Indonesian. She chose Indian and I'm so glad she did because of the Paper Masala Dosa!! :)

Mixed veggie and sausage curry.

This was made with a curry sauce from Trader Joe's. I don't love the curry on its own, but I add my own spices, the veggies and meat, making it very yummy if I do say so myself. ;)
