Birthday chocolates from Fran's of Seattle.

A birthday surprise came for me today! They were these wonderful Fran's Chocolates from my friend C in Seattle!

Dark chocolate truffle collection. Mmmm! I just tried the dark chocolate and the espresso--both were very good. Thanks so much, C! :)

New Bi-rite soft serve and Ice cream drama, Mission, SF.

The new Bi-rite soft serve window! :)

Left (mine): VANILLA! After going on about how I don't like most vanilla ice creams, I tried this one and ended up getting it! It's sooo lovely! I got the Bi-rite dark caramel sauce and toffee bits to go with it! Amazing combination, if I do say so myself. :)

Right: Vanilla with toffee bits and brownie. The brownie was okay, but not chocolaty enough for me. We both agreed mine was better. :)

So I got the scoop with Molly Moon's (the Bi-rite knock off in Seattle). It turns out that the Molly Moon's lady came down to Bi-rite and asked questions about the ice cream a few months before opening in Seattle. I guess she lacked to mention she was opening a shop in Seattle! Next thing they know, she stole the entire menu and opened Molly Moon's! That's pretty awful. It worked though because Bi-rite didn't have any copyrights. :(

Yelp

---------

Update! So Molly Moon wrote me and I feel a bit bad about how I presented this post. I would like to clarify that the information I presented in my post was from a conversation I had with two Bi-rite employees (who had just spoken with one of the owners). It really wasn't my intent to slander Molly Moon though. I think it's great that these wonderful flavors are in Seattle, I just think Bi-rite should get a bit of credit for some of the flavors/sundaes. Before writing what I did, I also went through some of the Molly Moon press and saw no mentions of Bi-rite, which was upsetting. I'm promise, I only wrote what I heard from these employees though, and again, just think Bi-rite deserves some credit here! If you're in Seattle though, you should certainly go to Molly Moon's for ice cream because they do have some yummy treats.. Bi-rite's Sam's Sundae is pretty great!

Brunch at Glo's, Capitol Hill, Seattle.

One of their wonderful eggs benedicts with spinach, bacon and some other yummy things. The eggs were so perfectly poached. The hollandaise wasn't quite as thick as I like it to be and was a little bit light, but that was actually great for this morning! :)

Rob got the corned beef hash and eggs. I had a bad experience with corned-beef so I don't go there, but Rob apparently loves this here! :)

Morning mini food tour with Pat, Pike Place Market, Seattle.

Caramel cheesecake from The Confectional, and about to go into Beecher's for some handmade cheese!

Yelp

Meringues at Le Panier. Such a wonderful little French bakery.

Yelp

Pat, picking out our piroshky at Piroshky Piroshky. :)

Yelp

Pat at the original Starbucks. Not super amazing, but a fun Seattle destination.

Ice cream at Molly Moon's, Wallingford, Seattle.

Again, no photo, but I got the "Scout" Mint, which is made with Girl Scout Thin Mints. Unfortunately, it's better than it sounds. It simply did not have enough flavor. The other flavors are great though! Although.. Pat noticed that they completely stole a lot of their stuff from Bi-Rite in San Francisco!!!

Dinner at La Casa del Mojito, Roosevelt, Seattle.

I get a chance to take a photo of my salad, so here is a photo from their website.

I got the Ensalada Caribena and it was a fabulous, light dinner. Everything else there looked pretty heavy to me. I wouldn't trek out there again to go there, but the place was okay. Cute little building, a little hard to get to, and strange hours.

Brunch at Cafe Flora, Madison Park, Seattle.

Hopin' John Fritters. One of the best brunches I've ever had.

Scramble with home fries.

Another of the yummy scrambles with cheesy grits.

Delish open-faced sandwich my friend Nani got.

Beignets w/ raspberry syrup. Very well done.

Cafe Flora is such a cute spot. I love the development on that part of Madison. The food--all vegetarian--is all so scrumptious, too! Everyone loved it. Definitely a new Seattle favorite.

Simple breaky at Vivace, Capitol Hill, Seattle.

Cherry almond scone and caramel ice coffee. The new Vivace location is cute. Not the same as the old location next to the park, but it's still Viiiiiivace! :)

Dessert at B&O Espresso, Capitol Hill, Seattle.

le poire rouge - 7.25
pear poached in merlot wine, served with spice reduction sauce and french vanilla ice cream

carrot cake - 6.75
with walnuts, pineapple and cream cheese frosting and filling

We love B&O!

Light dinner and wine at Elemental Next Door., Gasworks, Seattle.

I love any restaurant that greets you with a glass of complimentary champagne. :)

Our server recommended this wine and it was perfectly to start out the evening. V drinkable, nothing too fancy--very nice.

Artichoke dip.

Their signature stuffed peppers.

Ravioli.

This was all so delicious. And well priced! All bottles of wine are $30 and the menu is served in small plates to share, tapas style. Our tab came out to $15 each for such a great setting, and outstanding food & drink!

Lunchbox Laboratory, Ballard, Seattle.

Totally random, but wonderful Ballard location.

The kitchen. The boys who make it happen. ;)

The loooove! I got the chocolate pepermint shake, sweet potato fries with cinnamon-sugar salt, and The Smoker. All too amazing.

Tater tots and sweet potato fries.

Favorite!

Quinn's and The Kingfish Cafe, Seattle, WA.

My old camera--my favorite camera in the whole world!--died, and so I got a new one in a crunch and, well, the flash on it was horrible.. So no photos for these awesome Seattle food establishments! Please, know that they are superb though. :)

The Confectional, Pike's Place, Seattle.

One of my favorite cheesecake spots, and definitely my favorite in Seattle.

Mmmmm... mini cheesecakes!

It's tough work.

My key lime.

Nani's triple chocolate.

Brunch with Nani at Cafe Campagne, Pike's Plake, Seattle.

Oeufs en meurette

Two poached eggs served on garlic croutons with pearl onions, bacon and champignons

in a red wine and foie gras sauce served with pommes frîtes 15.

Ooo--look at that sun in Seattle! Haha.. This meal is my FAVORITE breakfast. Divine. Absolutely divine. :)

Gelatiamo, Financial District, Seattle, WA.

I heart Gelatiamo. I love their teal and rust brown--gives the space a very classy look.

Coffee and strawberry. Coconut and strawberry. Sooooo good.

Ice cream cakes are my favorite.

Tacos Guaymas, Fremont, Seattle, WA.

Paul wanted to try some Tex-Mex, and, being from Texas, is a little snobby about it. Luckily he loved Tacos Guaymas! He ordered the carne asada tacos and chips and salsa, which I didn't photograph, but were very tasty. The salsa they give with the chips is their special salsa and is one of the best salsa's I've ever tried.

From the salsa bar.

Yummy Spanish rice.

Taco salad. Muy declicious!

Top Pot, Belltown, Seattle, WA.

Oh, Top Pot. We love your fancy "hand-forged" doughnuts and sparky flavors. The owners, Mark and Michael Klebeck, are super sweet brothers from Montana and, of course, crazy fabulous entrepreneurs of Seattle! Along with their five Top Pot locations, you can also thank them for Bauhaus and their most-recent, Sun Liquor.

So many scrumcious treats to choose from!

Foot long maple bars.

Our feast! Clockwise, starting with the top left juice: grapefruit juice, ginger apple juice, plain old-fashioned, chocolate ring, cherry blossom cake (monthly special), and maple old-fashioned donut. The maple old-fashioned in my all-time favorite, but I've gotta give it to the cherry blossom--that was some good doughnut in my mouth.

Honey Hole, Capitol Hill, Seattle, WA.

El Guapo. This is one of my favorite sandwiches at one of my favorite sanwich shops in the world! Big love.

Meatball.
