South Perry Pizza, Spokane, WA.

I kept hearing about South Perry Pizza so I made the trek out to the adorable South Perry neighborhood to try it out! They have a great patio area and a cute modern space.

This salad was huge for $5! Gosh, I love eating in Spokane. You really get some bang for your buck. This salad was seriously delicious, too. Just like something I would make at home with the red grapes. :)

Artichoke 12
olive oil, feta, mozzarella, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers + pesto

We couldn't choose between the Artichoke and the Pesto pizzas so we got the Artichoke with some pesto! Seriously yummy. Very good crust, and AMAZING portions for the price! This was a pretty large pie and for only $12.

$20 with tax and tip and more than enough for two to share! Ridiculous! Amazing! Haha. I'm SO excited to eat here again next time I'm in Spokane!

FroYo Earth, Downtown, Spokane, WA.

I can't believe Spokane has a self-serve FroYo place! Crazy.

Can I just say though--this is the worst parking lot EVER! The spots are tiny and it's a one lane two way and it's just strange. It's not FroYo Earth's fault though, obviously.

In any case--the actual FroYo Earth space is, well, not the most appetizing. I don't know, I thought the coloring was just off and looked a bit old-fashioned.

Now that's a hot mess! ;)

I definitely have this problem where I just keep going like a kid at a candy store! ;) Haha. Their yogurt is okay. Unfortunately, it not the greatest and doesn't seem to be the freshest.

They have some fun flavors like pineapple and Jolly Rancher! I tasted the Jolly Rancher because it was JOLLY RANCHER frozen yogurt!!! Duh. ;) And it tasted just like a Jolly Rancher--kudos, I suppose?! Haha.

We love Atticus, Downtown, Spokane.

My new favorite cafe & gift shop in Spokane. The owners of Boo Radley's took over the old Four Seasons Coffee shop next door and ran with their beautiful To Kill A Mockingbird theme.

The gift shop is definitely more upscale than Boo Radley's, but it's perfectly kitschy and fun. :)

Curry chicken salad flatbread at Twigs, Wandamere, Spokane.

I always see this on the menu and have wanted to try it. Much to my surprise, it came out like this rather than flatbread pizza style, which is what I was expecting. It was definitely a Twigs hit! :) And, yes, Twigs is kind of the only restaurant in North Spokane. ;)

Main Market, Downtown, Spokane.

Main Market, which opened last week, is a great addition to downtown Spokane. I would say it's Fresh & Easy meets Madison Market--it's a smaller space with specialty grocery products, but the interior is definitely more kitschy and Brit-style.

The lovely lady who gave me tons of samples! :) Feel free to ask for samples! But do support them and buy something.

Take-away case 1. I got the eggplant-parm sandwiche. It wasn't my favorite, and a lot of that was because they don't cut it in half, nor do they run it through an toaster for you! Outrage! ;) They just have a microwave you can use, which is fine, but a proper hot sandwich is much nicer.

Rimas got the (Vietnamese) BBQ pork sandwich. Thank goodness for Vietnamese sandwiches in Spokane! Only, they didn't call it Vietnamese, which I think they should fix. That's what it is, and most people in Spokane probably don't know that that's what it is so they should be informed. In any case, I didn't get this because, as a spoiled San Franciscan, I refuse to pay over $3.50 for a Vietnamese sandwich. And why should I!? ;)

Take-away case 2. I got the blood-orange quinoa! It was fabulously fresh and tasty. I only wish there were more blood orange pieces. The quinoa was great though and my first quinoa, actually! Yay. I have a feeling I'm going to be adding quinoa into my grains of choice. ;)

Everything in these cases looked good, and prices weren't ridiculous. They will definitely need more seating though..

Aside from the limited parking, strange layout, too-trendy interior, and slow check-out, Main Market has a nice little thing going. Gosh, that sounds like I'm knocking-it hard! I really do believe the interior will get old and look tacky though. With service--they've only been open a week and I'm sure they are still working out the kinks.

It'll be interesting to see how Spokane responds to this endeavor. I love that that part of Main St. is developing with so may cool spots though (Magic Lantern, Saranac posted below!). Spokane is finally developing neighborhoods! What will this part be called? It's pretty much Main & Divis.. hmmm..

I do hope Huckleberry's continues to do well though. They sort of revolutionized grocery shopping in Spokane. I still like them more than Main Market because of their layout and their (Huckleberry's) cold and hot deli foods. Again, Main Market is a great addition though and I'm really not trying to knock it! Go! Buy! Eat! :)

Much love for the Magic Lantern Theater, Downtown, Spokane.

What a great space in Spokane. Main is seriously kicking some neighborhood arse right now, and kudos for doing so! The theater is modern-simplistic meets raw-indie.

The Inlander published a nice piece on Joe Davis (owner) and the re-opening of the Magic Lantern Theater. Joe is captured perfectly--cool, funny and definitely a transplant. ;) I think the fact that he's not from Spokane gives him the edge that'll lead to beautiful success.

Madeleine's cookies. I had one of these. It was excellent. I'm kind of craving another now..

Joe, hard a work, using those surgeon hands to make a great cup of coffee. :) Probably the best coffee prices in town and serving DOMA, too!

This was a very fun evening with good people and I like the Saranac space. Such a fun building with Isabella's and the Magic Lantern Theater.

Agave Bistro, Downtown, Spokane, WA.

Ceviche. Not Judi's favorite. Not mine either, but it wasn't bad. The paprika chips there are nice--I like the long strips for dipping/eating. It definitely wasn't your typical light ceviche though. Even from the look it's quite dark and quite salsa-like for a ceviche.

Prawn salad. This was an amazing latin dance party in my mouth--mmmm!

Wild boar. Very nice. The boar was tender, flavorful and went nicely with the light beans, rice and slaw.

I had been wanting to try Agave Bistro for awhile now so I'm very glad I finally have! The interior definitely could be better, but Ian Wingate (of Moxie) didn't disappoint me with the food. It's definitely in my Top 10 Spokane restaurants, and I want to go back--now! :) The menu was large and stimulating. The portions were a well sized (At Moxie, too!) and the flavors are a breath of fresh air for Spokane.

Sunday brunch at Madeleine's, Downtown, Spokane.

Warmed up cinnamon roll. not the best I've had, but the frosting was good. It didn't have enough cinnamon sugar. I'll try the butter & jam scone looked great. I think the pastries are probably the best thing at Madeline's.

I got the croque madame. I was pretty disappointed. The first huge disappointment is that they used Wonder bread! Maybe it wasn't Wonder, but it was generic, dry, sliced white bread. Also, they didn't have enough cheese on the bread and I don't think they used any gruyere. Not a croque madame! I don't normally like home fries either, but, luckily, these were very good.

Judi's greek omelette.

We tried to go to Taste Cafe, but they were closed! So sad. I've been disappointed with Madeleine's before, but haven't had brunch there so thought I'd give it a try. It's better than their salad bar, but I was still disappointed with my meal. I think the omelette Judi got looked good though. Definitely not authentic French cuisine, as they have posted on their website though!

My cousin Jae just got here from S. Korea.. and I definitely took him to Panda Express to experience his first American fast food! Haha. He loved it! :) He had never had a fortune cookie before because that is also very American!

I used to always get white rice and orange chicken, but now I'm really loving the Beijing beef. It's amazing.

Some high school friends and I got together at the Rockwood Bakery for a little gift exchange. We had lunch, too, but I was starving and forgot to take photos! Haha.. The desserts here are always amazing though!

Didier's is darn good yogurt. It's comprable to the best I've had in SF and even better--on Tuesdays, the medium is $1.69. Delish!

Twigs has really yummy fries and gorgonzola dip.

I got this teriyaki chicken pita and caesar salad. This was the best thing I've ever had at Twigs. Usually I'm dissapointed with the food, but this was very good. I don't love chicken though! I always seem to think I'll like it if I keep trying it, but no.. next time, I'll get this vegetarian!
