More yummy treats from Off The Grid, Fort Mason Center, SF.

Duck taco from Kung Fu Tacos. The duck was cooked nicely and quite tasty, but there wasn't even filling for the double tortillas.

My half of a crazy hot dot. The dog was actually really yummy and the dressings were, too.

Ahi tuna slider. This was just okay.

Creme brulee cart. This was the Mexican chocolate. When you broke the brulee, it was just like a chocolate mousse! Don't get me wrong, I actually prefer that, because I'm not the biggest on creamy custard, but that's creme brulee. Whatever it was, it was delicious. :)

Gobba Gobba Hey whoopie pies! To be honest, they aren't my favorite whoopie pies, but the guys there are rad and they do some interesting flavor combinations.

Asparagus and bell pepper stir fry with pineapple sausage and orange sauce.

Still using my asparagus and red, orange and yellow bell pepper from Costco. I decided to add my pineapple sausage, also from Costco, into this mix! I stir-fried everything and then added an orange sauce with grated orange peel!

Over brown & white rice. I just mix 1 cup of brown rice and one cup of white rice when I put it into the rice cooker. Mmmmmmm!

Stir-fried veggies in peanut sauce.

I stir-fried these frozen veggies in peanut sauce, added pepper and toasted walnuts. Not much of at meal to some, but I enjoyed it! And I'm not purposefully cutting out carbs or anything--I just don't have any rice right now! :)

Dim sum assortment from Chinatown, SF.

I don't know where we went, but I want to say it was on Grant between Pacific and Broadway? It was nice and cheap and pretty good in taste, too.

The Tao experience, The Venetian, The Strip, Las Vegas.

Taaaaaaao! Gosh, I had heard SO much about this place from SO many different people that I immediately put it on my "must" list!

Pretty.. I guess on the weekends they have models in these baths as you walk into Tao.

The Tao Buddha.

It's a pretty spot. I like what they've done with the decor.. not overdone, but definitely a nice mix.

I liked the raised silverware holder.

Crispy Coconut Shrimp with Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce.

We had to ask for more peanut sauce, but this was pretty good. Not the best coconut shrimp I've ever had, but solid. The slaw underneath, with the peanut sauce, was SO yummy.

Top: Satay of Chilean Sea Bass with Wok Roasted Asparagus.
Bottom: Sophisticated Udon Noodles with Mixed Vegetables.

The Sea Bass was like butter that melted in your mouth! The asparagus, too--I've never had asparagus that was so soft! They were both very nice. The noodles were good, too, but were the most generic tasting with the sauce.

Chocolate fortune cookie! With clever little fortunes! Fortune cookies aren't really my thing, but these were fun.

Sooooo Tao! It was a fun spot and I'm glad I went. I would definitely go again, too! :) It's a bit chainy, but prices weren't outrageous and they have a huge menu so that's nice.

Food and a photo-shoot at Four Seas, Chinatown, SF.

I was invited out to the Monique Zhang / Scott Robert Lim photo-shoot at Four Seas restaurant, by my friend and model Michelle! It was amazing amounts of fun and we were treated to this wonderful dim-sum meal before the shoot! This was a great place for group dining.

Models Ayumi and Faith, posing in the bar at the restaurant. They are wearing clothing designed by Monique Zhang and being shot by Scott Rober Lim's students.

In Chinatown, just outside the restaurant, with model Crystal. She is also wearing clothing by Monique Zhang, jewelry by Naomi King, and being shot by Scott Robert Lim's students.

This shoot was SO fun to be a part of! A huge thanks to Monique, Naomi, Scott and, most of all, my friend Michelle!

Greasy Chinese Vietnamese at Tu Lan, SoMa, SF.

Photo from ji k on Yelp.

What we ordered:
#20. Mi Xao Don - Shrimp, Pork, Chicken
#39. Veg. & Crispy Noodle, Bo Luc Lac - Beef Cubes VN Style.

I didn't get a shot of the food because I didn't have my camera, but this place is a gem!! A gem, I say!!! Haha. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but I love it so.

#39. Oh my goodness!! It was AMAZING. I'm craving it right now as I write this. Haha. It's not really like shaking beef because it has this sauce, but the sauce is oh so good!

Eggplant, chicken and vegetable fried rice.

This was pretty great. I used my special Asian sauce with rice, egg, eggplant, chicken, baby corn, broccoli, green beans, black pepper. This was great! :)

Whenever I make fried rice I cook rice in my rice maker like normal. Then I cook the egg first and then set it aside. Then anything else that needs to be cooked separately like chicken and eggplant. Next, everything else. Then I mix in the rice and sauce and add the cooked egg last.

Veggies, eggplant and chicken stir-fry with a spicy orange sauce.

Frooooozen veggies! I have mixed feelings on frozen veggies, but it's been hard being on foot and picking up fresh groceries all the time! I decided to give this batch a try.

With some saved eggplant and chicken from yesterday, all with a spicy orange sauce.

짜장면 jjajang-myun and Korean style Chinese food at Young King, Koreatown, LA.

Traditional onion and black bean paste side dishes for (짜장면) jjajang-myun.

튀김만두. Everything fried is tasty and these were no exception. They were soo yummy. You don't find fried pot-stickers often in Korean restaurants, but, again, this was Korean style Chinese food! They were divine.

소고기 탕수욱. This is the Korean version of sweet and sour pork. We got it with beef and apparently this place is known for doing this dish well. The batter was amazingly light had a nice, soft chew to it. While the batter was impressive, the sauce wasn't very flavorful, which you really need to make the dish good! It was still nice though.

짜장면 / Jjajang-myun. This is a $2 dish in Korea, but it's hard to find a really good bowl of it anywhere else! It was really good here though (another dish they are known for) with lots of freshly diced veggies. I can never finish a whole bowl though!

What I mean by Korean style Chinese is that this is Korean food that Koreans like to think is Chinese food, or food they are making Chinese style. It's not really Chinese though. It's funny because, in Korea, a lot of people don't know what Chinese food really is. They don't even know what Americanized Chinese food is, so they really believe this is Chinese food. It doesn't help that when Koreans go on tours to China, they scout out Korean restaurants that serve them this! Haha. There are a few other dishes that are also Korean style Chinese, and are very good, but they are certainly not popular Chinese dishes. ;)

Chinese with the girls at House of Nanking, Chinatown, SF.

Calamari dish. It was flavorful, but I'm a sauce girl.. I like having sauce. I'll warn now that this is the best photo though--the restaurant is just so dark!

The amazing eggplant dish! This is always my favorite there. It's excellent.

Black bean tofu. This was good, but the tofu chunks were a little too big.

Sesame chicken with sweet potatoes. This was pretty yummy, but I guess nothing really compares to the eggplant dish here.

House noodles. These were recommended, but were bland and just not good. No one at our table liked them.

I wanted to take AR here because the eggplant dish is so great and they have a lot of vegetarian dishes, but it was hit and miss. I would go back, but not for awhile.

Valentine's Day dinner at House of Nanking.

After hitting up Pillow Fight and then watching A Single Man, We got a green bean dish, an eggplant dish and a catfish dish. The eggplant was my favorite, but everything was SOO good! I can't believe I haven't been here yet! Loved it.

Chinese at Far East Cafe, Chinatown, SF.

A big group went out to Far East Cafe for dinner, and I didn't take any photos of the 10 dishes that came out! When you go to Chinese sometimes it's hard, but here are a few photos I stole from my friend Garland! :)

These lettuce wraps were SO yummy. I need to make some lettuce wraps soon. They are so easy and delicious!

Honey walnut shrimp is one of my favorites. Probably ridiculously bad for you, but it's so yummy. I kind of want to try to make this, too. I feel like it would be pretty simple. These two photos and the eggplant dish I ordered were my favorites of the night!

Thanks for the photos, Garland! :)

Panda Express, North Point, Spokane.

My cousin Jae just got here from S. Korea.. and I definitely took him to Panda Express to experience his first American fast food! Haha. He loved it! :) He had never had a fortune cookie before because that is also very American!

I used to always get white rice and orange chicken, but now I'm really loving the Beijing beef. It's amazing.

Chinese at Xiao Loong Restaurant, West Portal, SF.

Cream cheese wontons.

Some yummy chicken dish. :)

I really liked this restaurant. It's cozy and clean and very much a neighborhood spot. The food was good, too.

Late night Chinese at Go Go Cafe, OUter Sunset, SF.

Wrap for the..

Mu-shu pork. I only recently tried mu-shu pork for the first time and it's so fun! I love making yummy wraps and I think this would be pretty easy to make, too! I'll def have to try it. :)

Thousand layer pancakes. These were very yummy!

Combination chow-mein.

The food here isn't anything super special, but it's a good place and it's open late!

B-day lunch at Tommy Toy's, Financial District, SF.

Dumplings.

Chick and shrimp dishes with fried rice.

Some sort of a custard/flan with strawberry sauce. This was really delicious! And I don't normally like moussey/flan-like textures, but it was soo tasty!

My wonderful friend Jenny, treated me to a birthday lunch at Tommy Toy's. The decor in there is really lovely and the prix fixe is very nice as well. It was a lot of food and a great amount of variety--I love that you get two entrees. :)

Far East Cafe, Chinatown, SF.

Shrimp wonton soup. I did noooot like this.

I couldn't get a photo of each dish as it came out--there were a lot of hungry people there--so here's a photo of my plate with a little bit of everything! I guess the restaurant is pretty famous and the food was good.

Everyone was stuffed, but, no surprise, Roger was still going strong! Haha.

Hepatitis B Fundraiser at South Sea Seafood Village, Outer Sunset, SF.

Everyone, please get tested for Hep B and get vaccinated! There are no severe symptoms!

South Sea Seafood Village restaurant was kind enough to do this 9-course meal for $25 to help out the event! It was a very nice restaurant and a good meal!

Minced chicken and shrimp in lettuce cups. I love lettuce wraps.

Cream corn soup with chicken. This was fine, nothing special.

Peking duck with buns. One of my favorite dishes! We know how I heart Asian duck. ;) Very tasty. I've never seen the skin served separately, but it was interesting. I actually prefer to eat the duck without the buns though.

Walnut prawns. Another one of my favorite Chinese dishes! Very tasty. I would say there could have been more walnut though. ;)

Mapo tofu with pork. Not as spicy as I like it, but it was good.

Beef and greens. Not the best, but fine.

Black mushrooms & greens. I'm very particular about my mushrooms so this wasn't my favorite dish..

Salt baked chicken. This was very tender and tasty.

Ahh! Gross, gross. Sad.

Coconut jello-like dessert. It didn't look the most appetizing to me, and we were going for fro-yo after so I didn't try this. I hear it was pretty good though.
