Greek yogurt, bacon, parm baked Brussels sprouts.

Blanched Brussels sprouts.

Greek yogurt, bacon, parmesan, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper.

I mixed the Brussels Sprouts into the sauce mixture and put everything into a casserole dish. I stuck it in the oven for about 10 minutes. I must have forgotten to take a photo after, but it looked really nice, most of the yogurt and cheese baked into the sprouts so although they didn't look very saucy, they were quite flavorful!

The perfect lunch at Split Pea Seduction, SoMa, SF.

Split Pea has some great new artwork on the walls! A customer/artist who teaches classes at 1:AM Gallery did these ballpoint pen drawings--so fun.

Love it. This was perfect for people watching while enjoying my lunch. :)

Everything on their daily menu always sounds amazing. I opted for the vegetarian option (last one listed) with bacon! Their bacon is so good so I really had to. ;)

I was so hungry and this really hit the spot. It was heaven between bread.

The Split Pea is always amazing and I'm stunned with how they keep their soup the exact right, edible temperature. I went for the Sugar Pie Pumpkin Veg.

Ridiculous. I love soups with bread/croutons in them. So so yummy and hearty.

A special little dessert for me! Everyone should try one of their ice cream sandwiches. They're not only adorable, but absolutely delicious!

Now THIS is what lunch should be. :)

Chefs Christian and Sam--you guys rock my taste buds! Thank you both for everything! SO fabulous!

I just have to ad a quick note--Split Pea Seduction is the must-try lunch joint, but Christian also has an amazing catering company, Jersey Tomatoes, that you will not be disappointed with!

Starting Girls Night with dinner at EAT in 111 Minna, SoMa, SF.

Minna continues to be one of my favorite spots. It's so great for art openings, concerts, karaoke, dance parties, and pop-up restaurants! LOVE. I went out for a much needed girls night and we decided to head here first for the last EAT--so fun!

Funny enough, I actually went to the very first EAT supperclub, and I ended up going to the last one, too, thanks to my friend Maddy! The menu, food and crowd definitely improved since the first.

The very open kitchen.

Salad with beets.

Yummy.

Lamb over pearl couscous polenta.

Didn't love it. The lamb was a bit tough and not very flavorful. The pearl couscous texture was off with the polenta. I realize polenta can be a bit creamy, but the creamy large pearls were throwing me off.

Pork belly over polenta with green apple slaw.

This was AMAZING. I was seriously blown away. It was coked perfectly, melted in your mouth and was super flavorful--the sour crispness in the green apple helped cut the fat and played SO nicely off the fattiness of the pork belly. The polenta was excellent, too.

White chocolate mousse with wild blueberries.

Amazing. I really like white chocolate mousse. I actually remember having an amazing white chocolate mousse for dessert at the last Junior League's Fashion Show and I've been craving one every since! This definitely satisfied that craving. :)

Lunch with Tae at Slow Club, Potrero Hill, SF.

grilled flatbread
sheep's milk mozzarella, smoked bacon,
roasted summer squash & caramelized onions $10.00

Slow Club has been on my list forever, but I never get out to Potrero! Luckily, I was heading out there to interview Tae Kim, President/Founder of Alite Designs, so we grabbed lunch before. The flatbread was very good.

burger
prather ranch dry aged ground beef, tomatoes,
greens, balsamic onions, dijon mustard, aioli
& cheddar, swiss or jack cheese,
served with french fries $11.50

We shared the burger, too, which was also excellent--well cooked, with soft bread.

We also grabbed one of their huge chocolate chip cookies! Mmmm!

Post-interview Tae at the Alite studio. Their space is so fun and the interview was fabulous! They encourage people to check out the space and hang out, too, so grab a bite at Slow Club (next door) and then head over to Alite!

A HUGE thank you for everything, Tae! :)

Southwestern salad with homemade clinatro-lime dressing.

Chopped up romaine, cilantro, red onions, tomatoes, black beans, corn, almond bits, a little goat cheese, ground pepper, cilantro lime dressing.

And that's the last of the cilantro lime dressing! I really liked it thought and used it a lot. I'll definitely make some more. :)

More yummy treats from Off The Grid, Fort Mason Center, SF.

Duck taco from Kung Fu Tacos. The duck was cooked nicely and quite tasty, but there wasn't even filling for the double tortillas.

My half of a crazy hot dot. The dog was actually really yummy and the dressings were, too.

Ahi tuna slider. This was just okay.

Creme brulee cart. This was the Mexican chocolate. When you broke the brulee, it was just like a chocolate mousse! Don't get me wrong, I actually prefer that, because I'm not the biggest on creamy custard, but that's creme brulee. Whatever it was, it was delicious. :)

Gobba Gobba Hey whoopie pies! To be honest, they aren't my favorite whoopie pies, but the guys there are rad and they do some interesting flavor combinations.

Disappointing dinner at Sons & Daughters, Union Square, SF.

Trinh and I had both been wanting to try Sons & Daughters for awhile now. I hadn't really heard anything about it, but had been by a couple of times. We decided to go after attempting to hit up the First Thursday Art Walk at 49 Geary--most of the galleries were closed because of Labor Day. :(

Back to S&D--what a darling space! I really love what they've done with it.. Sadly, the space is a lot cuter than the food is good. :(

The menu looked great though.

Love this water jug! I think it's great to leave a nice thing of water on the table--I realize it doesn't work for every table setting, but there's really nothing worse than having to wait for water!

Housemade sweet roll with black salt. The bread was soft and lovely. I loved the salt, but could have used a little more salt with the butter.

Amuse Bouche: cucumber something with a caviared something else! Hah! I never quite catch what the amuse is! S&D's big thing is caviaring things and making these cool little balls! It's neat and fun. This amuse wasn't the most flavorful, but had a nice, cool taste.

Sweetbreads Lobster salad Garbanzo bean Baby greens Dijon 18

This was just okay. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting. The dijon was foamed, which took away from the sharp flavor you think of when you hear "dijon". I really didn't taste any dijon at all, actually.

Squab breast Confit leg Chanterelle mushrooms Jus 22

The squab was cooked nicely, but the cuts were odd, difficult to eat, and not that flavorful. the mushrooms were nice, but, overall, the plate was lacking flavor and substance.

The sweet amuse bouche. This was nice. This and the bread were probably the best parts of the meal.

Needless to say, I was disappointed with Sons & Daughters. It's such a great space and Union Square has desperately needed such a restaurant, but the food just wasn't there. That all said, I am glad I tried it! :)

Bar Agricole, SoMa, SF.

After MUCH anticipation and months of staking it out as our new office lunch spot (SF Station is right around the corner), Bar Agricole finally opened! Very exciting!

The space is great. A lot larger than it seems from outside (I feel like this is very SF), and very rustic-modern. The menu on the other hand.. While the actual design of it is fabulous, it reads a bit strangely. From everything I've read and from how they are presenting their chef (Brandon Jew), it seems like Bar Agricole is a bar/restaurant. That said, the menu is odd. It wasn't presented as a tapas place, but the menu seems incomplete for a normal restaurant. The line breaks + prices don't present a clear meaning either.

That all said, the food is great! Haha. But, with the exception of a couple dishes on the menu, none of the plates were full meals on their own.

Cheese plate 15

Our server (who was very sweet) said there would be crisp apples with this! There were no apples. I wanted apples. :( Both the bread and cheeses were very nice though. There was a camembert and two goats' milk cheeses. The plate could definitely use more bread, or fruit though.

Chopped liver on toast 8

I don't normally like pate, but this was SOO good. Apparently it isn't a traditional pate because it's technically "chopped liver", but it sure looked like pate and was definitely a spread.. ;)

Roasted peppers with napatella 13

These were lovely, but I wouldn't say they were anything extraordinary.

Grilled eggplant & farro with basil 11

This was pretty yummy. I just really love eggplant though. Haha. I didn't really taste the basil, but it was a nice, unique way of serving eggplant.

Mussels with pork sausage and pea greens 16

This would be the only plate that I would consider to be a full meal on it's own. Still, I never understand when people order a big bowl of mussels as their whole meal! Haha. They were very yummy though.

Blueberry shortcake with lemon verbena cream 8

This was yummy. It wasn't a shortcake though. Shortcake with fruit and cream is my favorite dessert and this definitely wasn't a shortcake. It lacked the crumble that I hoped for. although the plump blueberries were nice, I think wild blueberries would have brought in more flavor. Their cream is amazing though!

Pluot upside-down cake 8

This was my favorite dish of the evening. The cake was moist and buttery and just perfect with their light, yet flavorful cream and wild blackberries! Mmmmm!

After writing this, I feel like it was a negative review, but it really wasn't. The drinks were great, the food was great--the menu was just a bit odd. I don't know that I'd go for a full meal, but I'd certainly go back for drinks and dessert!
