Since I couldn't be there to celebrate with him, I thought I'd send NB some vegan cupcakes for his birthday! I researched DC vegan baked goods high and low and finally decided on Felicity's! I'm so glad I did, too, because she was a pleasure to work with and, although I didn't get to try one, I heard they were delicious!

The flavors I chose were Chai Tea and Chocolate Mousse with Raspberry. They both look fantastic! And her prices were so reasonable, too!

Waterside dinner at Chart House, Old Town Alexandria, VA.

Okay, so I'm not bitter, but I really wanted to go to Zaytina for dinner, but we ended up going to the Chart House instead. Food wise it wasn't that great, but we did have a lot of fun and I'm glad I got to see Old Town Alexandria so it all worked out. :) Zaytina next time though!

Lightly battered sliced eggplants fried until golden brown and topped with sautéed ground pepper, basil leaves, and garlic sauce.

This was delicious! I would have liked it a little more if it weren't fried though. In Thai dishes, I prefer regular eggplant, but this was still very good.

Deep-fried tofu sautéed with light yellow curry on a bed of steamed spinach, topped with peanut sauce.

Turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on the yummy Cosi bread. I actually really like Cosi for a chain. We should have them on the west coast! :)

I came for the palak chaat. This is one of my favorite dishes ever! Whenever I'm in DC I have to come here now to get this! :)

Fried oysters. These were my first fried oysters! They were great because everything fried tastes great, but I didn't really like them because you don't get to taste the oysters.

Mmmmm. Three different kinds of East Coast oysters. I had been craving oysters on the half shell for some time now as they are hard to find in Spokane! Not the best I've had, but they were delish.

Crab-cake sandwich with sweet potato fries, Capitol City Brewing Company, DC.

Okay, it's a chain, but the very nice ladies at Macy's recommended it to me and it was very good. They have a great menu and very reasonable prices!
