Korean dinner for P.

Hollowing out the onions. Messy!

Into the oven you go!

Kimchi fried rice (김치 뽁음밥). Kimchi, sesame oil, onions, green bell pepper, sausage, chili flakes.

Stuffed! Pretttttty. :) And yummmmy!

Mixing sauce for my spicy chicken (닭갈비). Some Korean red pepper paste, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili powder and sugar.

Cooking the slightly marinated chicken. Sauce to come!

Leftover chicken. It kind of looks battered and fried in the photo, buuuut it's not. ;)

I didn't time my cooking well and P only had a short amount of time, so I kind of rushed the other dishes and didn't end up photographing them! Sad! :( There were also dumplings with a spicy Korean salad and some traditional Korean noodles.

Overall--great meal. I had been craving Korean for awhile now.

Cafe Tiramisu, Belden Place, SF.

We love Belden Place. :)

I'd only ever been here for lunch before. And it was a very good lunch with the best butternut squash ravioli I've ever had. I wanted to order it again, but they changed their menu!

Caesar Salad
Topped with Eggplant, Croutons, Oven Roasted Garlic Prawns & Aged Asiago Cheese
$13

Not your super traditional Caesar, which isn't a bad thing at all. It was very, very good! I loved the shrimp in it and it was a heckuva Caesar for $12. It could have been my dinner alone.

Gnocchi
Roasted Cherry Tomato, Mozzarella di Bufala
$18

I knew P was going to order this! :) It was a bit too soft.

Sea bass with mussels.

This was new to the menu. I can never decide what to order and it was between this and the eggplant ravioli with salmon. The waiter, no question, reccomended this, but I think I should have gone for the ravioli. The mussels were nice, but overall the dish was quite bland and nothing special.

Whole wheat waffles with mixed fruit.

Ooooh man. Okay, so this was actually all frozen. But it was really good. The thing about frozen eats is that they kind of suck until you do something awesome to make them better. This is my theory anyway. ;)

While the waffles were toasting, I defrosted the fruit in cold water. Then I poured a little maple syrup and dusted with some powdered sugar and voila! :) A quick, super yummy, and fairly healthy breakfast.

Takoyaki and cheesteaks night at P's.

Making the takoyaki. I didn't actually get a photo of it made! :( Sad. We started with batter mix though. Then added veggies and octopus and cooked them. Then topped with takoyaki sauce, Asian mayo, bonito flakes and dried seaweed. The first batch wasn't the best, but once we got the hang of it, they were very good!

Buns from the Cheese Steak Shop. Yes, takoyaki and cheeseteaks are a strange combo. It was kind of a "random eats" dinner, but worked really well. :)

Mushrooms are going and the meat and onions are going!

With provolone and topped with super delicious party-in-my-mouth mustard sauce from Texidelphia! Diana brought some of this sauce up from Austin, TX.

And for dessert we had my brownies and ice cream that Tamiko brought. Yay.

Apples, peanut butter and cheddar.

Snacking. :)

Noodles with chicken and peanut sauce.

Sauteed onions and chicken.

I used whole wheat spaghetti noodles and added cilantro, peanuts, and peanut sauce to the onions and chicken. Yummy.

Cream cheese marble brownies.

Marbled.

Baked, with a some chocolate chips.

I made these for a casual dinner potluck tomorrow night. The recipe called for a much smaller pan though so they are very thin. Can't really taste the cream cheese, but they are moist, yummy and not too rich.

Cinnamon tuna salad sandwich and frozen grapes.

Tuna, onions, mayo, celery seed, paprika, pepper, lemon, and, a little strange, but I sometimes like to put in a little cinnamon! :)

On cracked wheat sourdough, with frozen grapes! Yummy.

White cheddar fusilli 'n cheese with shrimp and vegetables.

I'm a big fan of using fusilli or penne for mac 'n cheese. Macaroni is great, too--I just never seem to have it on hand.

Caramelizing onions with a little garlic.

Sharp white cheddar, truffle butter, the onions and garlic, a little salt and pepper, paprika and milk. This photo really isn't getting the creamy deliciousness!

Fusilli 'n cheese, topped with some breadcrumbs. Shrimp and veggies cooked with a little oil, balsalmic vinegar and some spices. Mmmmm!

UT sugar cookies and cookie cutter.

P's sister Diana brought me this wonderful and very thoughtful gift from Texas! Yaaaaaay! Very exciting! I'm kind of obsessed with this place called Texas. ;) The cookies were great and the little cookie cutter even comes with a recipe for sugar cookies and frosting!
