Herb garden update.

Oregano.

Basil.

Thyme.

Rosemary.

Well, the weather's been fantastic in SF and these plants are taking to it well. They're all looking very healthy and I'm very excited to use them in some dishes!

Squat & Gobble, West Portal, SF.

Asian chicken salad. Very good. I like the real noodles mixed in and the dressing was light, but well mixed in with just the right amount! It was a crazy amount of salad though--I felt like I had just eaten a whole garden!

Gobble Club sandwich with flatbread and fruit. This was very tasty, although P wasn't huge on the flatbread. I liked it though. And it's been ages since I've had watermelon! :)

Okay, so I heart Squat & Gobble. It's my favorite little SF cafe chain. It was my first time at the West Portal location though. It was good, although I wasn't thrilled on the decor and I absolutely dislike the fact that they don't have the 1/2 soup, 1/2 salad or 1/2 sandwich combos at this location! Sad.

Sakae Sushi, Burlingame, CA.

P, and the sushi chef in the background. :)

We LOVE awesome wall art! Haha.

We also love miss-matched plates.

Chef's assortment. The salmon was so preeeeetty and delicious!

Bonito flown in from Japan! Holler.

I'm so American and always have to order a roll. I like my rolls to be super flavorful and, if possible, to have a little crunch to them. :) This roll didn't have rice, which I didn't like. :(

Mmmmmmm! All of the sushi was soooo good. I'm not a seasoned sushi foodie, but this is the best place I've been to thus far. They always have a list of fresh fish that's flown in from Japan. The "Very Fatty Tuna" goes for around $25 for two pieces!

Brunch at Chez Maman, Potrero Hill, SF.

Croque madame! Not the croque madame at Cafe Presse, but it was pretty good. The salad I really couldn't care less for.

P's sunny side up eggs with toast, tomatoes, sausage link and home fries.

Mmmm their yummy fries with aioli. Oh man! So yum!

Definitely a cute little brunch spot. Not dying to go back, but I certainly want to try the sister restaurant, Chez Papa sometime.

Easter brunch update.

My friend Lei took some amazing photos with her SLR at brunch! Yay! Here are the topped crackers. They have a slice of brie, peach and a little cranberry sauce on top.

My pineapple upside down cupcakes with coconut cream cheese frosting and toasted coconut flakes.

Phyllo dough baked brie.

Me, cutting my baked brie.

Thanks for the wonderful photos, Lei! :)

Desserts at Sugar Cafe, Nob Hill, SF.

Toffee pudding, sugar cookie crumble and banana slice trifle. Audrey and I shared this. It was DIVINE!!! I'm going to try to remake it. :)

Flourless chocolate cake. This was very good, and very rich!

Zazil Coastal Mexican, Westfield Center, SF.

Salsas and tortillas. The tortillas were fine, but I didn't love any of the salsas.

Flash! See, it's so easy to make guacamole, guys. It really is! :)

I asked for extra lime and it was perfect!

Ceviche.

Flautas de Pollo. These were my first flautas! I'm not a huge taco person, but I liked theirlight crispiness!

Rice with fried plantains.

Cochinita Pibil. It kinda tasted like pulled pork chili, but was good! :)

I wouldn't crave going there again, but that's typically how I feel about any fancy Mexican. Haha. It was definitely worth trying though and was a good meal. :)

Apple cinnamon coffee cake.

Did I mention I do everything old school and by hand? Haha.. I'm not very good at it either.. but improving! Anyway, I'm going away for a couple weeks and had a bunch of apples to get rid of so I thought I'd bake something! :)

3 chopped apples!

Coffee cake batter.

With the chopped apples.

Streusel topping and into the oven you go!

All baked!

Mmmmm.. perfect coffee cake in the morning.

Faux-chicken Italian salad and creamy pesto whole wheat spaghetti.

And I used some Morning Star fake chicken--LOVE--with some romaine, tomatoes and the last of my homemade Italian dressing! Delish!

Whole wheat spaghetti.

I used some pesto I had frozen, garlic, a little milk and some salt 'n pepper.

In go the noodles, slightly undercooked, and tomatoes.

And topped with some black pepper and pine nuts. Mmmmmm. This tasted pretty awesome. :)

P.S. I think it should be said that the entrees I plate and photo are usully two portions. I photograph them and then put half in tupperware for leftovers! Yay!

Ben & Jerry's and Crepe Express, The Haight, SF.

My beautiful cousin, Grace, with her 7-layer bar ice cream from Ben & Jerry's.

My cinnanon apple nutella crepe from Crepe Express. I like how their crepes are lightly crispy! Mmmm. I remember this was one of the first places I ever went to in San Francisco, when I was a tourist in high school!
